Aladin (2009) Full Hindi Movie (4K) Riteish Deshmukh | Amitabh Bachchan | Jacqueline Fernandez watch Review

Aladin (2009) Movie Review: Is the 4K Version Worth Your Time?

I recently sat down to re-watch the Aladin (2009) movie on a 4K screen. This film stars Amitabh Bachchan, Riteish Deshmukh, and Jacqueline Fernandez. When it first came out, it was a big deal for Indian fantasy cinema. I wanted to see if the magic still works today.

My Thoughts on the Story

The story is a modern take on the classic tale. Riteish Deshmukh plays a shy boy named Aladin Chatterjee. Amitabh Bachchan enters as a very cool and funky Genie. Jacqueline Fernandez made her debut here as Jasmine. I think the chemistry between Riteish and Big B is the best part. It feels like a fun comic book come to life.

How It Compares to Other Sujoy Ghosh Films

Director Sujoy Ghosh is known for very different types of movies. If you look at his work like Kahaani, it is a dark thriller. But Aladin is a total fantasy musical. Before this, he made Jhankaar Beats, which was a simple tribute to music.

I feel Aladin was his most ambitious project. However, it does not have the tight script of his later hits. If you enjoy his thrillers, this might feel a bit too loud for you. You can check out our other reviews at hdfolders.com to see how his style changed over the years.

Technical Quality & Hindi Dubbing

I watched the 4K version of this movie. The 4K resolution makes the colors look very bright and clear. The special effects from 2009 look okay, but they are not perfect. In high definition, you can easily see the fake green screen backgrounds.

I noticed some issues with the Hindi dubbing quality. Since this is an older film, the audio sync feels off in many scenes. The voices do not always match the lip movements perfectly. In the 4K version, the sound is loud and clear, but it lacks the “real” feeling of modern movies. The background music sometimes drowns out the dialogue. If you are a fan of clean audio, this might bother you.

Viewer’s Verdict: 4K Watch or One-Time View?

Is this movie worth a 4K watch? I would say no. The 4K upgrade makes the old CGI look a bit dated and rough. While the colors are great, the visual flaws become very obvious.

I think this is a one-time view for most people. It is a good movie to watch with kids on a Sunday afternoon. It is fun and light, but it is not a masterpiece. If you love Amitabh Bachchan’s style, you might enjoy it more than others.

Conclusion

I had a decent time watching Aladin (2009) again. It is a brave attempt at fantasy in Bollywood. The music is catchy and the acting is good. But the technical flaws and dated effects hold it back.

My Rating: 2.5/5

  1. 38.12 I would have asked Genius for these 3 wishes :

    1. Grant me the knowledge of all arts, skills, sciences, sorcery, mantras, religious scriptures, languages, weaponry, warfare and politics in the universe.

    2. Without my wish and permission, nothing and no one can ever harm or curse or influence or hypnotize me.

    3. Until I do not fulfill all my desires, ambitions and responsibilities,
Until I do not create the being that will cause my death,
death should stay away from me.

Then imagine like a God how much powerful and knowledgeable I would have become.
