I recently sat down to watch Kalki 2898 AD, and I have a lot to say. This movie has been the talk of the town for months. I wanted to see if it actually lives up to the massive hype. As a fan of sci-fi and mythology, my expectations were very high.

My Experience with the Story

The movie takes us to a future world that feels both new and old. I loved how it connects the Mahabharata to a dystopian future. The way the director builds the city of Kasi is quite cool. Technical Quality & Hindi Dubbing

Now, let’s talk about the technical side. I watched this in 4K, and the visual quality is top-notch. The color grading is very smart. The world of Shambala has soft, natural colors. Meanwhile, the city of Kasi looks dark and gritty. The 4K resolution makes every detail of the armor and the desert sand look very clear. If you have a good TV, you will really enjoy the sharp images.

The Hindi dubbing is a very important part for me. Sometimes, South Indian movies feel weird in Hindi because the lip-sync is off. But in Kalki 2898 AD, the Hindi dubbing is actually quite good. I noticed that the voice actors did a great job matching the emotions of the actors. Prabhas’s Hindi voice feels natural this time. Amitabh Bachchan voiced himself, which is always a treat. The lip-sync was about 90% perfect, which is better than most dubbed films.

Is this movie worth a 4K watch? My answer is a big yes. The scale of this film is meant for the biggest screen possible. The climax sequence looks stunning in high definition. The CGI doesn’t look cheap or fake.

However, if you are looking for a very fast story, you might find the first hour a bit long. But for the visuals and the background score, it is more than just a one-time view. I think I would watch it again just to catch the small details in the background.
