[post_title], review

I finally watched Kalki 2898 AD on my 4K screen at home. I have been waiting for this movie for months. Ever since the first trailer came out, my expectations were very high. After watching it, I can say that Indian cinema has reached a new level. The mix of Indian mythology and future science is something I have never seen before.

My Thoughts on the Story

I found the story very engaging from the start. It connects the Mahabharata era to a dark future in the year 2898. I really liked how the director showed the city of Kasi. It looks dirty, crowded, and very real. Prabhas plays the role of Bhairava, and he brings a lot of fun to the screen. But for me, Amitabh Bachchan as Ashwatthama was the real hero. His energy at this age is just unbelievable. I felt goosebumps during his fight scenes.

How it Compares to Nag Ashwin’s Past Work

I have followed Nag Ashwin’s work since his movie Mahanati. That film was a beautiful emotional drama. You can read more about his style on the Kalki 2898 AD Wikipedia page. Comparing this movie to his old films shows how much he has grown. Mahanati was about the past, but this is about a world we cannot even imagine.

Nag Ashwin likes to focus on small details. I saw that same care here too. Even though the scale is huge, the emotions feel real. He is not just making a loud action movie. He is building a deep story. If you like his style, you should also check out our other reviews on hdfolders.com to see how other directors compare.

Technical Quality & Hindi Dubbing

Now, let’s talk about the technical side. I watched the 4K resolution version, and it is a treat for the eyes. The blacks are very deep, which is important for a dark movie. The color grading is not too bright. It uses a lot of grey and gold tones. This makes the movie look like a Hollywood big-budget film. The CGI is mostly great. Only in a few small places, I felt the green screen was a bit visible.

The Hindi dubbing quality really surprised me. Usually, South Indian movies feel strange in Hindi because of the lip-sync. But here, the Hindi dubbing is top-notch. I felt that the voice actors matched the emotions of the original actors perfectly. Amitabh Bachchan’s own voice in Hindi is a huge plus point. Prabhas’s Hindi dialogues also sound very natural this time. The words used in the dubbing are simple and easy to understand. I did not feel any disconnect while watching.

Viewer’s Verdict: 4K or One-Time Watch?

Is this movie worth a 4K watch? Absolutely. If you have a good home theater or a big 4K TV, do not watch it in low quality. You will miss the small details in the background. The sound design is also very heavy. You need a good system to enjoy the background music.

I don’t think this is just a one-time watch. I am already planning to watch it again. There are many hidden clues about the next part. You might miss them the first time. It is a movie that deserves your full attention.

Conclusion

I am very happy with how Kalki 2898 AD turned out. It is a big step for our film industry. The visuals are great, and the story is deep. The Hindi dubbing makes it accessible for everyone in India. I highly recommend it to anyone who loves sci-fi and history.

  1. Being a parent of a girl child, sometimes feels like helpless in the society. It's the practice from the my childhood. Yes even i have been a victim of such indecent assault. I am always scared of my daughter who is just four years old. We women always get stuck with kids care and career to choose. And these scary molestation break our strength, power, hope of living healthy in society anywhere. School ya school ke staff hi safe nhi hai …toh parents kya kare….? School nhi bheje apne bachon ko?

  2. Mujhe lagta hai. Ye movie 🎬 ke ending ko theek tarike se samjha nahin paaye. Koi bhi audience first se last tak confusion mein hi rahega.

  3. Ig, they should have filed an FIR against whole school not just the employee, when it would have came to school reputation, all those trustees who were trying to protect shibu would have kicked out shibu to rescue the reputation cuz in INDIA it works like that only

  4. Very powerful message but I don't understand why the boy comes up inthe lift to take the child to school ..atleast i have not seen this happening around.i maybe wrong.but the issue is real.

  5. Watching the movies or series … the make up ….looks…. corporate set up…. cars… homes …in 30 years we have completely turned American….and to have had Insulted the western world n lifestyles 😂 e

  6. I think what the movie is trying to convince through it ending is that cases like this when a child is molested by an employee working for a reputed school and you don't have any evidence to prove it you can't do anything about it.

  7. Yeh kaisa end h ,shibu ko punishment kyun nhi milla

Every girl child suffered parents kyun nhi dhayan dete h iss yopic pr kya woh suffer nhi kiye h agar nhi toh ane waali generation hum h hame bohot careful rehna hoga h ghar se rehkar baahar tak

  8. Amazing story line.. and marvellous acting … In love with this muvi … Although end is also true… People never place FIR for the sake of their child but i wish it was done

  9. kitna galat dikhate ho aap log ..babies and toddlers are not supposed to be seated in front seat.. n when they are at back seat.. n papa driving, mom supposed to sit beside the baby at back seat.. this should be done for baby's safety.. thats what we middle class family follow.. characters are so modern.. educated professional people but so unaware 59:38

  10. Amazingggggg
I hope the upcoming hindi movies must be like this.
Perfect Camerapan, perfect acting, no spoon-feeding.
    Depicted a common life. Amazinggg

  11. As someone who grew up with very busy and working parents, it's difficult for me to speak about anything to them cause we barely talked when I was young. It's extremely excruciating from my mother's end too as she has a lot of motherly guilt in her for not spending enough time with me.

  12. I can understand how devastating and depressing this can be for parents in these situations, it seem so cool but in real life things go extremely wrong between parents itself
