I recently sat down to watch the Naughty @ 40 Movie Review: Govinda’s 4K Hindi Comeback. I grew up watching Govinda, so I was quite excited. This film is a desi take on the Hollywood hit The 40-Year-Old Virgin. Seeing Govinda on screen always brings a smile to my face. However, this movie is a mix of old-school charm and some very odd technical choices.

In this movie, Govinda plays Sanjeev Srivastav. He is 40 years old and lives in London. The catch is that he is still a virgin. His parents are worried and want him to get married soon. I found the plot quite simple and funny in parts. Sanjeev tries hard to find love, but things keep going wrong.

I was shocked to see Jagmohan Mundhra directed this film. He is famous for making very serious movies like Provoked and Bawandar. Those films were deep and intense. Compared to his other work, Naughty @ 40 feels very loud and silly.

Technical Quality & Hindi Dubbing

This is where things get interesting for a 4K release. I noticed the 4K resolution makes the London streets look very clear. The colors are bright and sharp. I liked how the skin tones looked natural in the high definition. The color grading is much better than the old DVD version I saw years ago.

However, I have some complaints about the Hindi dubbing. At times, the lip-sync is completely off. I felt like the actors were saying something else while the audio played something different. In some scenes, the background noise is louder than the dialogues. This made it hard for me to enjoy the jokes. A 4K movie should have perfect sound, but this one fails a bit in the dubbing department.

Viewer’s Verdict: Is 4K Worth It?

Is this movie worth a 4K watch? Well, it depends. If you are a die-hard Govinda fan like me, you might enjoy seeing his expressions in high detail. The 4K version definitely looks better than the original.

But if you are looking for a masterpiece, this isn’t it. For most people, this is a one-time view. The jokes are a bit old. The story feels a little slow in the second half.
