Garv: Pride & Honour (4K) Movie Review – Salman Khan’s Gritty Action Classic

I recently watched the 4K version of Garv: Pride & Honour. It brought back so many memories from 2004. Salman Khan plays Inspector Arjun Ranawat in this movie. Even after twenty years, his performance feels very powerful. This is not your typical “Sultan” or “Bajrangi Bhaijaan” style. It is raw, angry, and very serious. If you love old-school cop dramas, this review is for you.

The Story and Salman’s Performance

The story is about an honest cop fighting a corrupt system. Arjun and his partner Hyder Ali face a lot of trouble. I think this is one of Salman’s most underrated roles. He speaks very little but his eyes do the talking. The action is heavy and feels real. It does not have the “flying cars” logic of modern movies. Technical Quality & Hindi Dubbing

Let’s talk about the 4K restoration. I was surprised by how good the movie looks now. The grain is mostly gone. The 4K resolution makes the old Mumbai streets look very clear. The color grading has been improved a lot. The skin tones look natural and the black levels are deep.

Regarding the Hindi dubbing and audio quality, I noticed a few things. Since this is an old film, the original Hindi audio was cleaned up. Sometimes, in 4K remasters, the sound does not match the lips. In this version, the Hindi dubbing sync is mostly perfect. The heavy dialogues sound loud and clear. However, some background scores feel a bit too loud compared to the voices. If you like high-quality audio, you might need a good soundbar to enjoy it fully.

Comparison with Puneet Issar’s Work

This movie was directed by Puneet Issar. He is famous for playing Duryodhan in Mahabharat. When I compare Garv: Pride & Honour to his other film I Am Singh, I see a big difference. Garv is much better in terms of pacing and style. He handled the “honest cop” theme very well here. While I Am Singh was more of a social message film, Garv stays a pure action entertainer. It feels much more polished than his other projects.

Viewer’s Verdict: 4K Watch or One-Time View?

Is this worth a 4K watch? My answer is yes. If you are a fan of Salman Khan, you will love the new clarity. The movie does not feel dated because of the high resolution. The sharp visuals make the action scenes pop out.

However, if you are not a fan of 2000s Bollywood tropes, it might feel a bit long. The songs sometimes slow down the story. But for the “Bhai” fans, this 4K version is a treat. It is much better than watching a blurry version on TV. I would suggest watching it once just for the 4K experience. It is a great way to see how action movies used to be made.

Conclusion

Garv: Pride & Honour remains a classic in Salman’s career. The 4K update gives it a new life. The technical work on the video is great. The Hindi audio is sharp, though not perfect.
