I recently sat down to re-watch the classic Bollywood movie Narsimha. Released in 1991, this film is still a massive treat for action fans. Sunny Deol plays the role of a man who has lost everything. I feel that Narsimha is N. Chandra’s most violent and loud film. While Ankush was more realistic, this one is a pure masala entertainer. Technical Quality & Hindi Dubbing

I watched the 4K restored version of this film recently. I must say, the 4K resolution makes a big difference. The colors of the old sets look very sharp now. The skin tones of the actors look much more natural. The red color in the action scenes is very bright. But there is a major problem I noticed with the audio.

I need to talk about the Hindi dubbing and audio sync. Even though this is a Hindi film, the remastered version has some issues. In many scenes, the lip-sync does not match the sound. It feels like the audio was layered poorly during the 4K cleanup. Sometimes, Sunny Deol’s iconic screams sound a bit muffled. The background music is often louder than the dialogues. I found this quite distracting. If you are a fan of clear audio, this might bother you. The dubbing quality should have been handled better for such a big classic.

Viewer’s Verdict: Is 4K Worth It?

Is this movie worth a 4K watch? My answer is yes, but only for the visuals. I loved seeing the old Mumbai streets in such high detail. The 4K version brings out the grain of the film beautifully. It feels like watching it in a theater back in 1991.

However, if you are a casual viewer, a one-time watch on a standard platform is enough. The audio issues make it hard to call it a “perfect” 4K experience. But for a die-hard Sunny Deol fan, it is a must-see. The raw energy is still there.
