I recently watched the 1993 classic Hum Hain Kamaal Ke again on a lazy Sunday. This movie is a total laugh riot from start to finish. I watched the new digital version of this film. I want to talk about the technical side now. The 4K resolution update is a bit of a mixed bag. The pictures look much cleaner than the old DVDs. The colors are bright and look real. I liked how the outdoor scenes looked in high definition.

However, let’s talk about the Hindi dubbing and audio sync. Since this was a remake of a South Indian film, the dubbing needs to be perfect. In some scenes, I noticed that the lip-sync does not match the words. This happens mostly during the fast comedy sequences.

The background score is a bit loud too. Sometimes it hides the funny dialogues. The Hindi dubbing quality is okay, but it is not great. If you are a fan of high-quality audio, you might find this annoying. I expected the 4K version to fix these small audio delays.

Viewer’s Verdict: Is 4K Worth It?

Should you watch this in 4K or is it just a one-time view? I think this movie is a classic. It has a high repeat value because of the jokes. But I don’t think you need a 4K screen to enjoy it. The old-school charm works even in normal quality.

If you are a hardcore fan of Kader Khan, go for the best version. For others, a regular high-definition print is enough. I would say it is more than a one-time watch. I have seen it thrice and I still laughed at the same jokes.
