I recently watched the movie Khamoshi, featuring Tamannaah Bhatia and Prabhu Deva. I was quite curious about this one. Usually, we see Prabhu Deva dancing or playing the hero. Here, he plays a scary killer. Tamannaah plays a character who cannot hear or speak. The whole story takes place in a big, lonely mansion in London. I expected a lot of chills and thrills from this setup.

The Story and My Initial Thoughts

The plot is simple. Tamannaah’s character is an orphan who inherits a huge property. She travels to London to settle things. Suddenly, a mysterious man (Prabhu Deva) enters the house. He starts hunting her down. Since she cannot hear anything, the tension should have been very high. I liked the idea of a silent battle. However, the logic in the script felt a bit weak at times. I kept wondering why the killer was so angry. The movie tries to keep it a secret for a long time.

Comparing Chakri Toleti’s Direction

The film is directed by Chakri Toleti. I have seen his earlier work like Unnaipol Oruvan, which was a remake of A Wednesday. That movie was very fast and smart. He also directed Billa II, which had a lot of style. But when I compare Khamoshi to those films, it feels a bit slow. The director failed to create the same level of excitement here. In his previous movies, the characters had strong reasons for their actions. In Khamoshi, Prabhu Deva’s character feels like a typical movie villain without much depth. Technical Quality & Hindi Dubbing

I watched this film in high resolution. Let’s talk about the 4K quality first. The visuals are actually quite good. The cinematography is dark and moody. The colors are not too bright, which fits the horror theme. The black levels are deep and look great on a good screen. The mansion looks both beautiful and scary at the same time.

However, I have a big complaint about the Hindi dubbing. This movie was shot as a bilingual film. If you watch closely, the Hindi dubbing does not match the lip-sync perfectly. This made me feel a bit disconnected from the story. In many scenes, the actors are saying something, but the Hindi audio feels like it was added later in a hurry. The voice used for Prabhu Deva is okay, but it doesn’t always match his facial expressions. It takes away the “real” feeling of the movie. The Acting Performance

Tamannaah did a great job. Acting without speaking is hard. She used her eyes and body language to show fear. I really felt bad for her character. Prabhu Deva was also quite creepy. Is Khamoshi worth a 4K watch? My answer is no. While the 4K resolution makes the mansion look great, the story is not strong enough. It feels like a movie you would watch on a boring Sunday afternoon. It is strictly a one-time view. If you are a huge fan of Tamannaah, you might enjoy her performance.
