I recently sat down to watch Dirty Politics, a movie that promised a lot of heat and drama. I have always been curious about Mallika Sherawat’s acting. This film gave her a chance to play a bold character named Anokhi Devi. It also features the late, great Om Puri. If you like movies about power, greed, and scandals, this one might catch your eye.

The Story and Performances

The plot is inspired by real-life events. I felt the story was quite predictable. Mallika Sherawat plays an ambitious woman. She wants to climb the political ladder quickly. She gets involved with a powerful politician, played by Om Puri.

In his older films, the drama felt more natural. In this movie, the scenes feel forced. The action is not as sharp as his previous work. 4K Resolution and Color Grading

I noticed that the 4K version makes everything look very sharp. You can see every detail on the actors’ faces. But this isn’t always a good thing. The makeup on Mallika Sherawat looks very thick and heavy in 4K.

The color grading is also a bit strange. Some scenes look too bright. The skin tones often look a bit orange or too red. It doesn’t have that polished look of modern films. It feels like they just boosted the brightness without fixing the balance.

Hindi Dubbing and Lip-Sync

This is my biggest complaint. Even though this is a Hindi movie, the dubbing is quite poor. I noticed many scenes where the lip-sync was totally off. It feels like the actors recorded their lines much later in a studio.

In many close-up shots, the words don’t match the mouth movements. This made me feel disconnected from the story. The background score is also very loud. Sometimes it drowns out the actual dialogues. If you are a fan of clean audio, this will definitely bother you.

Viewer’s Verdict: Is it Worth a 4K Watch?

Now, the big question. Should you watch this in 4K?

In my opinion, no. Dirty Politics is not a visual masterpiece. The high resolution only shows the flaws in the sets and makeup. It is a one-time watch if you are bored. You don’t need a high-end home theater for this one. A simple mobile screen or a regular TV is enough.

The story is okay for a lazy afternoon. But the bad dubbing and dated direction make it hard to enjoy fully. I would suggest skipping the 4K download. Just watch it on a normal stream if you really want to see Mallika’s performance.

Conclusion

I went in with high hopes because of the cast. Sadly, the movie did not live up to the hype. The technical issues and poor lip-sync really ruined the experience for me. It is a loud, messy political drama that lacks soul.
