Apna Sapna Money Money Movie Review: Ritesh Deshmukh’s Funniest Comedy

I recently re-watched Apna Sapna Money Money on a lazy Sunday. I honestly forgot how much fun this movie is. It takes me back to the mid-2000s era. That was a time when Bollywood made simple, loud, and crazy comedies. This film is a complete “masala” entertainer. If you want a good laugh without thinking too much, this is it.

In my opinion, this is Ritesh Deshmukh’s funniest performance. He is the heart of the movie. The way he shifts between characters is amazing. Most people remember him as “Sania” in this film. He looked and acted so much like a girl that it was scary and funny at the same time.

The plot is quite simple but very busy. It is all about a hidden treasure of diamonds. Everyone in the movie is chasing after this money. I liked how the director connected all the characters. We have a honest mechanic, a con man, and even a dangerous gangster.

I have watched many films by director Sangeeth Sivan. He is known for his multi-starrer comedies. I compared this movie to his other hit, Kyaa Kool Hai Hum. While that movie was a bit more “adult,” Apna Sapna Money Money is a bit cleaner.

I think Sivan is a master at handling many actors at once. Every actor gets a moment to shine. Compared to his later films like Yamla Pagla Deewana 2, this one feels much more natural. Technical Quality & Hindi Dubbing

I watched this movie in a new 4K resolution format. I was curious to see how an old film would look. I must say, the 4K quality is quite good. The colors look bright and real now. The old prints were a bit blurry, but this version is sharp. I liked the color grading in the outdoor songs. The greens and blues look very fresh.

Now, let’s talk about the Hindi dubbing quality. Since this is a Bollywood movie, all actors dubbed their own lines in the studio. I checked the lip-sync very closely. Most of the time, it is perfect. However, in some fast-paced comedy scenes, the audio feels a bit detached. I noticed that Ritesh’s voice as “Sania” was handled very well. The pitch was changed, but it still matched his lip movements perfectly. The background score is a bit loud, but the dialogues are clear. It is a good technical upgrade for an old classic.

Viewer’s Verdict: 4K Watch or One-Time View?

Is this movie worth a 4K watch? I would say yes. If you are a fan of Ritesh Deshmukh, you need to see this in high quality. The details in his costumes and makeup are worth it. However, if you are not into loud comedies, it might be a one-time view for you. For me, it is a “paisa vasool” movie. It is great for a family movie night. You will enjoy the songs and the crazy climax.
