I recently sat down to watch Des Hoyaa Pardes, a film that many consider a masterpiece of Punjabi cinema. Now that it is available in a Hindi dubbed version, I wanted to see if the soul of the movie remains intact. This movie stars the legendary Gurdas Maan and Juhi Chawla. Now, let’s talk about the Hindi dubbing. This is a big point for me. Often, Hindi dubbing ruins the original feel of a Punjabi movie. In Des Hoyaa Pardes, the dubbing is okay, but not perfect. I noticed that the lip-sync matches in most scenes. However, the Hindi voice actors sometimes miss the heavy emotions that Gurdas Maan brings in Punjabi.

I really liked Des Hoyaa Pardes. It is a sad but important film. Gurdas Maan is a legend for a reason. The Hindi dubbing is decent enough for a pan-India audience.
