I recently spent my weekend watching the movie Nyay Anyay (Niyayam Ketkirane). I was looking for a solid courtroom drama with some old-school action. Since this movie is a dubbed version of a classic, I had some expectations. I wanted to see if the story still holds up today. Here is my honest review of the film and whether you should spend your time on it.

The Story and My First Impression

When I started watching Nyay Anyay (Niyayam Ketkirane), I felt a sense of nostalgia. The story is a classic tale of a man fighting against a corrupt system. It focuses on a hero who seeks justice for his family and society. I found the plot quite simple but very effective.

The main actor did a great job. He looked very convincing in the emotional scenes. I really liked how the movie shows the struggle between right and wrong. It does not try to be too clever. Instead, it tells a straight story that anyone can understand. If you like movies about social justice, you might find this one interesting. You can check more details about the original film on its Wikipedia page.

Technical Quality & Hindi Dubbing

I watched this movie in 4K resolution to see the quality. I must say, the restoration is quite good. The picture looks very sharp and clean. I noticed that the colors are not too bright or fake. They look very natural and real. The dark scenes have good detail, which I appreciated.

However, I have some complaints about the Hindi dubbing. This is where the experience felt a bit weak for me. The Hindi voices do not always match the lip-sync of the actors. In many scenes, the character finishes speaking, but the Hindi audio continues. This made it hard for me to stay focused.

The voice actors also felt a bit robotic. They did not put enough emotion into the dialogues. For a powerful legal drama, the voice should be strong. Here, it felt like they were just reading from a paper. If you are sensitive to dubbing quality, this might bother you. For better-dubbed options, you can browse our other reviews at hdfolders.com.

Comparison with the Director’s Other Films

The director of this film is known for making message-driven movies. I have seen some of his other works before. Usually, his films have a very fast pace and lots of energy. In Nyay Anyay (Niyayam Ketkirane), the pace is a bit slower.

In his more popular hits, the background music is often very loud and intense. In this movie, the music feels a bit dated. It does not give you that “goosebumps” feeling. Compared to his other films, this one feels more like a standard 90s drama. It lacks the modern punch that his later films had. However, the core message remains just as strong as his other work.

Viewer’s Verdict: 4K Watch or One-Time View?

Now, let’s talk about the big question. Is this worth a 4K watch?

I think this movie is a one-time view. While the 4K picture is great, the movie itself feels a bit old. The story is predictable. The Hindi dubbing issues also make it hard to enjoy the high resolution fully. I would suggest watching it if you are a fan of 90s South Indian cinema. If you want something modern and fast, you might want to skip this one.

I enjoyed the nostalgia, but I don’t think I will watch it again. It is a good movie to play in the background while you do some work. It doesn’t require your full attention every second.

Conclusion

Overall, Nyay Anyay (Niyayam Ketkirane) is a decent film from the past. It has a good heart and a strong message. The 4K restoration is a nice touch for fans. But the poor Hindi dubbing and slow pace hold it back. It is not a masterpiece, but it is not a bad movie either. It sits right in the middle for me.
