I recently sat down to watch the classic film Aag Hi Aag. It features the legendary duo of Dharmendra and Shatrughan Sinha. This movie is a pure 80s action entertainer. I watched the 4K restored version of this movie. The 4K resolution makes the old scenes look very clean. I liked the color grading in the outdoor shots. The greens and reds look very deep and real. It does not feel like a movie from 1987 anymore.

Now, let’s talk about the Hindi dubbing. Since this was an era of post-sync sound, I noticed some flaws. In several high-octane scenes, the Hindi dubbing does not match the lip-sync perfectly. I found it a bit distracting when the dialogue continued but the actor’s mouth stopped moving.

The background score is loud and typical of that time. While the restoration has cleaned the noise, the voice quality feels a bit thin in some parts. I believe they could have balanced the bass better during the remastering process.

Viewer’s Verdict: 4K Treat or One-Time Watch?

Is this movie worth a 4K watch? I would say yes, but only if you are a big fan of Dharmendra. The 4K visuals bring a fresh life to the dusty action scenes. It is great to see the details on the actors’ faces.

However, if you are not into old masala films, it might feel like a one-time watch. The story is quite predictable. But for a Sunday afternoon with family, I think it is a great choice. I enjoyed the “He-Man” action of Dharmendra more than anything else.
