I recently watched the highly anticipated action movie Vettaiyan, which many Hindi viewers are calling “जब गुरु ने ही दिया धोखा!”. Seeing Amitabh Bachchan and Rajinikanth together after 33 years felt like a dream come true. I went in with high hopes for a massive showdown. Technical Quality & Hindi Dubbing

This is where I have a lot to say. I watched the movie in 4K resolution. The picture quality is amazing. The skin tones look real. The dark scenes are very clear and don’t look muddy. The color grading is mostly natural, which I appreciate.

However, I had a tough time with the Hindi dubbing quality. Amitabh Bachchan has a very iconic voice. In this movie, the Hindi dubbing for him feels a bit off. It does not always match his deep, baritone style. The lip-sync is mostly okay, but the choice of words in Hindi feels a bit weak. Some dialogues lost their power because of the translation. I feel the dubbing studio could have done a better job for such a big film. If you are used to watching Big B in his original voice, this might bother you.

Is this movie worth your time? I think it is. But is it a 4K masterpiece? I would say it depends. If you are a die-hard fan of Rajinikanth or Amitabh Bachchan, watch it in 4K. The visuals are great for a big screen. The action scenes look sharp. But if you are just looking for a good story, a one-time view on a normal screen is enough.
