Ayaash Movie Review: संजीव कुमार की फिल्म ‘अय्याश’ में अय्याशी का कड़वा सच

I recently watched the movie Ayaash starring the legendary Sanjeev Kumar. This film is a deep look at how a life of luxury can lead to a dark path. The title itself means someone who lives for pleasure. In this movie, we see the bitter truth of what happens when a person loses control over their habits. Sanjeev Kumar was known for his serious roles, but here he shows a different side.

The Bitter Truth of a Rich Life

The story of Ayaash revolves around a wealthy man played by Sanjeev Kumar. He has everything money can buy. However, his love for “Ayyashi” or debauchery starts to ruin his life. I felt that the movie captures the 1980s vibe perfectly. It shows how ego and bad company can destroy a happy home.

Sanjeev Kumar’s acting is very real. He does not just act; he lives the character. You can see the pain in his eyes as he realizes his mistakes. The film is not just about fun. It is a warning for everyone. I liked how the story moves from being colorful to being very sad and deep.

Comparing Shakti Samanta’s Work

The director of this film is Shakti Samanta. If you love Indian cinema, you must know his name. He gave us masterpieces like Aradhana and Amar Prem. When I compare Ayaash to his other movies, I see a big change.

His older films were mostly romantic and soft. But with this one, he tried something brave. He showed the dark side of society. It is much more serious than his films with Rajesh Khanna. You can read more about his other works on our site at hdfolders.com. I think Shakti Samanta wanted to prove he could handle hard-hitting subjects too.

Technical Quality and Hindi Dubbing

I watched the digitally restored version of Ayaash. I have to talk about the technical side because it really matters.

4K Resolution and Colors

The 4K restoration is quite good. The frames look clean for a movie from 1982. The color grading is not too bright. It keeps the natural look of that era. I enjoyed the skin tones and the way the sets look. It does not feel like an old, grainy film anymore.

The Hindi Dubbing Quality

This is where I have some mixed feelings. Even though it is a Hindi movie, many scenes were re-recorded in a studio. This is called ADR or dubbing. I noticed that in some parts, the lip-sync does not match the voice perfectly.

Sometimes, the voice sounds too loud compared to the background noise. It feels a bit fake in emotional scenes. I expected the audio to be smoother. The dialogue delivery is great because the actors are pros. But the technical sync could have been better. If you are a fan of perfect audio, you might find this a bit annoying.

Viewer’s Verdict: 4K Watch or One-Time View?

Is Ayaash worth a 4K watch? Well, I have a clear answer for you.

If you are a die-hard fan of Sanjeev Kumar, then go for the 4K version. His expressions look much better in high resolution. However, for a regular viewer, this is a one-time view. The story is good, but it is very slow. It is a heavy movie that might make you feel sad. I don’t think I would want to watch it again and again.

Conclusion

Ayaash is a brave movie that shows the reality of a wasted life. Sanjeev Kumar gives a powerhouse performance. The direction by Shakti Samanta is solid, even if it is different from his usual style. The 4K visuals are a treat, but the dubbing/audio sync issues pull it down a bit.

My Rating: 3.5/5

Kya faida sadi karne ga aur kisi aurat ki zindagi barbaat kiya. Bacche ki galti par sabashi di. Patni ko galaat bataya. Koi Ekta nahi risto meh. Yeh bhi koi zindagi thi
