Baaghi (1990) Review: Salman Khan’s Classic Action Romance

I recently sat down to watch Baaghi: A Rebel for Love (1990) again. It reminded me of why Salman Khan became such a huge star. This movie came out right after his big hit, Maine Pyar Kiya. The skin tones of the actors look natural now. However, I noticed some issues with the Hindi dubbing quality and audio sync.

Since this is an old film, the original sound was not digital. In the restored version, the Hindi dubbing feels a bit detached. In many action scenes, the sound of the punches does not match the hits. Sometimes, the dialogues feel like they were recorded in a closed room. The lip-sync is slightly off in the high-pitched emotional scenes. I felt the background music was sometimes too loud. It drowned out the soft dialogues between Salman and Nagma.

Is Baaghi (1990) worth a 4K watch? I would say it depends. If you are a big fan of Salman Khan, you will love the 4K version. It is great to see his early days in high definition. The songs also look beautiful on a big screen.
