Inquilaab Movie Review: अमिताभ बच्चन – देशप्रेमी या देशद्रोही? (4K)

I recently sat down to watch the 4K version of the classic movie Inquilaab. Starring Amitabh Bachchan and Sridevi, this film is a typical 80s political drama. The title asks a big question: is the hero a patriot or a traitor? I wanted to see if this old hit still feels powerful today.

The Story of a Common Man

In the movie Inquilaab, Amitabh plays Amar, a simple man looking for a job. He gets trapped in the dirty games of politicians. Kader Khan and Shakti Kapoor play the villains who use him. I felt the story is still very relevant. It shows how big leaders use common people for their own gain.

If you like political thrillers, you can check out more reviews on hdfolders.com. I have shared my thoughts on many old classics there. You can also read the full cast details on the official Inquilaab Wikipedia page.

T. Rama Rao’s Direction Style

Director T. Rama Rao was famous for making fast-paced “South-style” Hindi movies. I noticed that Inquilaab is very similar to his other hit, Andhaa Kaanoon. Both movies show a hero fighting against a broken system.

However, I feel Andhaa Kaanoon had more logic. In Inquilaab, some scenes feel a bit too dramatic. But Rama Rao knows how to show Amitabh as a mass hero. He uses close-up shots that make Big B look larger than life. Compared to his other films like Khatron Ke Khiladi, this one feels more serious and grounded.

Technical Quality & Hindi Dubbing

This is the most important part of my review. I watched the 4K restored version. I must say, the picture quality is a huge jump. The colors look very bright and clean. You can see the details on Amitabh’s face clearly. The grain is still there, but it makes the movie look real.

But I have some complaints about the audio and Hindi dubbing. Even though it is a Hindi movie, many 80s films were shot in a way where audio was recorded later. In this 4K version, the sound is very sharp. Sometimes, the Hindi dubbing does not match the lip-sync perfectly.

I noticed a small delay in a few dialogues. The background music is sometimes too loud. It almost hides the actors’ voices. I wish they had cleaned the audio tracks as well as they cleaned the video. The dubbing feels a bit “hollow” in the high-definition format.

Viewer’s Verdict: Is 4K Worth It?

Is this movie worth a 4K watch? Well, I have mixed feelings. If you are a die-hard Amitabh Bachchan fan, you will love seeing him in high resolution. The climax scene in the assembly is iconic. It looks great in 4K.

However, for a normal viewer, this might just be a one-time watch. The story is predictable. The technical flaws in the audio might annoy you. If you have seen it before on TV, the 4K version doesn’t add much “new” feel to the plot. I suggest watching it for the nostalgia and the great acting by Kader Khan.

Conclusion

Inquilaab is a solid reminder of why Amitabh Bachchan is the “Angry Young Man.” The political message is loud and clear. The 4K visuals are a treat for the eyes. But the poor lip-sync and loud dubbing hold it back from being perfect. It is a good film, but not the best work of T. Rama Rao.

My Rating: 3.5/5
