This is a review for the 4K digital restoration/re-release of the 2005 multi-starrer “Insan.” While the film originally hit theaters nearly two decades ago, its recent resurfacing in Ultra-HD provides a nostalgic yet eye-opening look at the transition period of Bollywood action cinema.

Insan, directed by K. Subash, is a quintessential example of the “ensemble masala” genre that dominated the early 2000s.
