I recently sat down to watch the 4K version of जब अमीर राजकुमार बना गरीब. This movie stars Jackie Shroff and the beautiful Divya Bharti. It is actually the Hindi dubbed version of the Telugu film Dharma Kshetram. Seeing these two stars together on screen felt very nostalgic. I remember watching this on old cable TV years ago. However, I have some complaints about the Hindi dubbing. The voice used for Jackie Shroff does not suit his personality. We are used to his heavy, “Bhidu” style voice. The dubbing artist here sounds very different. Also, the lip-sync is quite off in many scenes. The words finish early while the actor’s mouth is still moving. This broke my focus a few times. Comparing the Director’s Style

The director, A. Kodandarami Reddy, is a legend in South Indian cinema. I have seen his other famous films like Khaidi and Challenge. He is great at making “masala” movies. In this film, his style is very clear. He uses loud music and big action sequences.

Compared to his work with Chiranjeevi, this movie feels a bit slow. But he still manages to keep the audience hooked. He knows how to make a hero look like a savior of the poor. I feel this movie follows his classic formula perfectly.

Viewer’s Verdict: Is it Worth a 4K Watch?

Is this movie worth your time in 4K? I would say it depends. If you are a huge fan of Divya Bharti, you must watch it. She looks like a dream in these high-resolution frames. The songs are also filmed in beautiful locations.

But if you are looking for a deep story, this is a one-time watch. The dubbing quality makes it hard to take the emotional scenes seriously. I think it is great for a Sunday afternoon when you want some old-school action. It is better than many modern movies that have no soul.
