I just watched the Hindi version of the South superhit movie Jiivi. Let me tell you, this is not your typical action film. It is a very smart thriller starring Vetri and Rohini. I was waiting for this Hindi release for a long time. If you like movies that make you think, you are in for a treat.

The story follows a young man who is very intelligent but lacks money. He decides to commit a crime using his brain. However, he soon discovers a strange connection between his life and someone else’s past. I found the concept of “Triangular Theory” very fresh. I wanted to compare this movie to other works by Director V.J. Gopinath. He also made the sequel, but the original Jiivi is much more grounded. I am usually very picky about Hindi dubbing. Often, the voices do not match the actors. But in Jiivi, the Hindi dubbing is actually good. The voice actor for Vetri sounds very real. The lip-sync is almost perfect in most scenes. I didn’t feel like I was watching a dubbed movie. The dialogues are simple and don’t feel like a bad translation.

Is it worth watching in 4K? Yes, absolutely. If you have a big screen, the 4K detail adds to the experience. However, is it a movie you will watch again and again? Maybe not. It is a great one-time watch because the mystery is the main hero. Once you know the twist, the thrill goes down a bit. But for that first watch, it is a 100% recommendation from me.
