KEEDA (Keedam) Movie Review: Rajisha Vijayan’s New Hindi Dubbed Thriller

I finally sat down to watch Keeda, the Hindi dubbed version of the Malayalam thriller Keedam. I have always liked Rajisha Vijayan’s acting. She chooses very unique scripts. This movie is a cyber-security thriller. It focuses on a girl who uses her brain instead of her fists. I was curious to see if the Hindi version keeps the tension alive.

The Story in Brief

The story follows Radhika Balan, played by Rajisha Vijayan. She is a top-level cyber-security expert. She believes in using technology for good. However, things change when some criminals start stalking her. Instead of running to the police, she decides to use her hacking skills. I liked how the movie shows the power of data. It feels very real and scary. You can read more about the plot on the official Wikipedia page.

Comparison with Rahul Riji Nair’s Previous Work

The director, Rahul Riji Nair, is known for making grounded movies. I remember his film Kho Kho. It was a sports drama with a lot of heart. Before that, he made Dakini, which was a quirky comedy.

In Keeda, I noticed he kept the same realistic touch. He does not use over-the-top action scenes. He prefers showing human emotions and smart dialogues. Compared to his other films, this one feels much tighter. It is a fast-paced thriller. If you like such grounded thrillers, you can check out more reviews on hdfolders.com.

Technical Quality & Hindi Dubbing

This is the part I was most worried about. Many South Indian movies get bad Hindi dubbing. But for Keeda, I was pleasantly surprised.

The Hindi Dubbing Quality

The voice artist for Rajisha Vijayan did a good job. The tone sounds natural and matches her facial expressions. I noticed the lip-sync was quite accurate in most scenes. Sometimes, technical terms in hacking sound a bit odd in Hindi. However, it does not ruin the experience. The supporting characters also have decent voices. It does not feel like a cheap “Goldmines” style dub. It feels professional.

4K Resolution and Visuals

I watched the 4K version of the movie. The clarity is amazing. The movie has a lot of night scenes and dark rooms. In 4K, the black levels are deep and clean. There is no grain or noise in the dark parts. The color grading is very subtle. It uses cool tones like blue and grey. This adds to the “tech” feel of the movie. The frames look sharp on a big screen.

My Personal Take on Performances

Rajisha Vijayan is the soul of this movie. I loved her calm and composed acting. She doesn’t scream or cry much. She looks like a real professional. Sreenivasan plays her father. His chemistry with Rajisha is very sweet. I felt their bond was the best part of the film. The villains were okay, but they felt a bit generic at times.

Viewer’s Verdict: Is it Worth a 4K Watch?

Now, the big question. Should you watch this in 4K?

I would say Keeda is a great one-time watch. If you have a high-end 4K TV, the visuals will look great. The details of the computer screens and night shots are worth it. But, it is not a “visual spectacle” like an action blockbuster. If you are a fan of smart thrillers, go for the 4K version. If you just want a quick story, a standard HD version is also fine. I enjoyed the pacing. It never felt boring to me.

Conclusion

Keeda is a smart and realistic thriller. It shows how dangerous the digital world can be. The Hindi dubbing is high quality and doesn’t distract you. Rajisha Vijayan once again proves she is a great actor. The director handled the subject with a lot of maturity.

My Rating: 3.5/5

    जब कोई परेशान हो रहा होता है तो इनको नही दिखता ।
    तब इनका न्याय मर जाता है।

  3. 1. If she was such a techie, why didn't she videograph those goons when they started harassing her in person?
    2. What kind of loyal policeman tells a girl to not file a complaint against harassment?
    3. When the policemen were fighting, were they not trained enough to shoot the goons in their legs or any other body part to make them not run away?

It isn't criticism, this was a nice movie and I would like to request the next part of it but with more detailing… It would be a great challenge for a good cinematographer and writer…
