किसना (4K) मूवी रिव्यू: विवेक ओबेराय और सुभाष घई की यादगार प्रेम कहानी

I recently watched the 4K version of Kisna: The Warrior Poet. This movie takes me back to the year 2005. It is a grand story set in the 1940s. Subhash Ghai tried to make something very big and artistic here. I remember being excited for this film when it first came out. Seeing it again in high resolution felt like a new experience.

Subhash Ghai’s Grand Vision

I have always liked Subhash Ghai’s style of filmmaking. He is the man behind hits like Taal and Pardes. In those movies, he focused on Indian values and music. Kisna is quite similar in that way. He loves to show large sets and beautiful locations.

This is the most important part of the 4K release. I was surprised by how good the 4K resolution looks. The hills of Himachal Pradesh look very real. Now, let’s talk about the Hindi dubbing. Since Antonia Bernath is a British actress, her lines needed good dubbing. I feel the Hindi dubbing matches the lip-sync quite well. In many old movies, the dubbing feels out of place. But here, it feels smooth. The voice chosen for her character sounds sweet and fits her face. Vivek Oberoi’s own voice adds a lot of weight to the dialogues. The background score by A.R. Rahman sounds very clear in this version. The Story and Performances

The story is about Kisna and his childhood friend Katherine. It is a story of love versus duty. I liked how the movie shows the tension of 1947. Isha Sharvani’s dance sequences are the highlight for me. Her movements are like magic on screen.

The movie is a bit long, though. Some scenes feel slow. I think the second half could have been tighter. But the emotional bond between the characters keeps you hooked. Vivek Oberoi shows why he was a big star back then. He brings a lot of heart to the role of Kisna.

Is this movie worth your time in 4K? I would say yes, especially for the visuals. If you are a fan of old-school Bollywood romance, you will love it. The 4K upgrade makes the cinematography look like a painting.

However, if you like fast-paced action movies, you might find it slow. For me, it is a great watch for a lazy Sunday. The music and the scenery make it a pleasant experience. It is more than just a one-time watch if you appreciate technical beauty.

Kisna is a brave attempt by Subhash Ghai. It has its flaws, but the 4K version hides many of them. The Hindi dubbing is high quality and does not distract you. The songs are still stuck in my head. It is a beautiful piece of Indian cinema history.
