Parankimala (2021) Hindi Dubbed Movie Review: Vinutha Lal and Biyon

I recently sat down to watch the Parankimala (2021) Hindi Dubbed Movie. This film is a remake of a 1981 classic. It features Biyon and Vinutha Lal in lead roles. Since I enjoy romantic dramas, I wanted to see how this version holds up. This movie tells a story of intense love and local rivalry.

The Story of Love and Pain

I felt the story was very simple but emotional. It is set in a small village. Appu (played by Biyon) falls in love with Thankamani (played by Vinutha Lal). Their love is pure, but the world around them is harsh. Thankamani’s brother is the main villain. He is a very cruel man.

Technical Quality & Hindi Dubbing

Now, let’s talk about the technical side. I watched this movie in 4K resolution. The picture quality is quite good. The rural greens and the earthy tones look very clear. The color grading is natural and not too bright. It fits the serious mood of the film.

However, the Hindi dubbing was a mixed bag for me. Here is what I noticed:

• Lip-Sync: The lip-sync is okay but not perfect. In emotional scenes, the Hindi words don’t always match the mouth movements.
• Voice Acting: The voice for Biyon was decent. But the voice for the villain felt a bit too loud. It felt like a typical old-style dubbing.
• Translation: Some of the village slang was lost in translation. The Hindi felt a bit too formal for a rural setting.

I think the dubbing team could have done a better job. It sometimes takes you out of the movie. But if you are used to watching dubbed movies on YouTube, you might not mind it.

Viewer’s Verdict: 4K or One-Time Watch?

Is this movie worth a 4K watch? I would say no. While the 4K version looks clean, the movie itself is a one-time watch. The story is a bit slow for today’s audience. It feels like a movie from the 90s.

If you are a fan of Vinutha Lal, you might enjoy it more. She acted very well. But for a general viewer, the slow pace might be boring. I suggest watching it once if you have nothing else to do on a weekend.

I found Parankimala to be a decent attempt at a remake. The actors did their best. The music was also quite touching. But the Hindi dubbing quality holds it back from being great. It is a sad story that sticks with you for a while. If you like tragic romances, give it a try. For others, it might be a bit too slow and heavy.
