If you grew up in the 90s, you know Suniel Shetty was the ultimate action king. I recently re-watched Prithvi, and it took me back to the golden days of Bollywood action. This is where things get interesting. I watched the remastered version, and I want to talk about the technical side.

The 4K Resolution and Colors

The 4K scan of Prithvi is surprisingly good. I saw a lot of detail in the close-up shots of Suniel Shetty. The skin tones look natural, and the outdoor scenes are very bright. I was worried the movie would look grainy, but the restoration team did a fine job. The blacks are deep, and the colors do not look washed out.

The Hindi Dubbing Quality

I need to talk about the Hindi dubbing specifically. Since this is an older film, all the dialogue was recorded in a studio later (ADR). In some scenes, I felt the Hindi dubbing did not perfectly match the lip-sync.

I noticed that when Suniel Shetty shouts in high-action scenes, the audio feels a bit detached from his face. The background score is also very loud, which sometimes drowns out the voices. It is not as clean as modern movies. However, the Hindi dialogues themselves are very punchy and typical of that era. If you are sensitive to lip-sync issues, you might find it a bit distracting in the first twenty minutes.

Viewer’s Verdict: 4K Watch or One-Time View?

Is Prithvi worth a 4K watch? Well, it depends. If you are a big fan of Suniel Shetty, then yes. Seeing him in high definition is a treat. The action looks much better in 4K than it ever did on old TV channels.

But if you are just looking for a casual movie night, this might be a one-time view. The story is predictable, and the dubbing issues can be annoying for some. I would say it is a great nostalgia trip. I enjoyed the stunts more than the story itself.
