I recently sat down to watch the movie Ribbon starring Kalki Koechlin and Sumeet Vyas. If you are looking for a typical Bollywood masala film, this is not it. I want to talk about the Hindi dubbing and audio quality. Since this is a Hindi film, most of it is original sound. However, in some scenes, the post-production dubbing (ADR) feels a bit off. I noticed that in a few heavy emotional scenes, the lip-sync does not match the voice perfectly. The background noise sometimes drowns out the dialogue. If you are a fan of perfect audio, you might find this a bit distracting. But overall, the voices of Kalki and Sumeet are clear and full of life.

Is this movie worth a 4K watch? In my opinion, it is a one-time watch. The movie is great, but it does not have big landscapes or action scenes that need 4K. You can enjoy it just as much on a regular HD screen. I think the story is the hero here, not the high resolution. It is a heavy film, so you might not want to watch it again and again. It is perfect for a quiet weekend when you want to see something meaningful.

I really enjoyed the honesty in Ribbon. It talks about things that many movies ignore, like workplace bias against mothers. Kalki Koechlin gives one of her best performances.
