Now, let’s clear the air first—while the title says “South,” this is actually a massive Bangladeshi action thriller starring Siam Ahmed.

Since it is being marketed to the Hindi-speaking audience as a “South-style” entertainer, I decided to give it a watch. Here is my honest review of the film, the dubbing, and whether it deserves a spot on your 4K screen.

The Plot: A Typical Mass Entertainer

Shaan follows the story of an honest police officer (played by Siam Ahmed) who is on a mission to dismantle a human trafficking ring. The plot isn’t exactly groundbreaking, but it has all the ingredients of a commercial “masala” movie: high-speed chases, heavy dialogues, and a hero who can take down ten goons at once.

The story moves at a decent pace. It tries to balance social issues with “Seeti-maar” action sequences. While the emotional bits feel a bit stretched, the overall narrative keeps you engaged if you love cop dramas.

Hindi Dubbing Quality: Hits and Misses

Raheem has definitely stepped up the production scale here. The cinematography is crisp, and the action choreography feels inspired by modern South Indian and Bollywood hits. However, the soul and tight storytelling found in Dahan seem a bit missing here in favor of loud action.

Action and Visuals

The “4K” tag on the video isn’t just clickbait. The movie looks stunning. The colors are vibrant, and the night sequences are handled well. Siam Ahmed has worked hard on his physique and his stunts look believable. The background score is loud—perhaps a bit too loud at times—but it fits the “blockbuster” vibe the makers were going for.
