I recently watched the cult classic Andaz Apna Apna again as part of a 90s Classics Showreel. This movie is a pure gem from my childhood. Technical Quality & Hindi Dubbing

I watched this movie in a new 4K restored format. I must say, the picture looks very clean now. The skin tones look natural and the backgrounds are sharp. I could see small details on the actors’ faces that I missed before. The colors are bright but they do not hurt the eyes. It feels like a modern movie in terms of looks.

However, I have some complaints about the Hindi dubbing quality. Since this is an old film, the audio restoration is tricky. I noticed that the lip-sync is off in several scenes. In the song sequences, the voices sometimes feel separate from the actors.

I also felt the background score was a bit too loud. Sometimes, it drowns out the funny dialogues. I wish they had cleaned the audio tracks better. The dubbing does not always match the mouth movements perfectly. This can be a bit distracting if you watch it on a big screen. But for a movie from 1994, it is still better than many other old films.

Why the 90s Classics Showreel Hits Different

The showreel brought back so many memories for me. I love how movies back then focused on simple stories. There were no heavy visual effects. It was all about the acting and the script. Aamir Khan as Amar and Salman Khan as Prem are iconic. Their chemistry is the soul of the film.

So, should you watch this in 4K? I believe it is worth it if you are a big fan. The high resolution makes the experience very immersive. You get to see the 90s fashion and sets in great detail. It feels like a brand-new experience for your eyes.

But if you are a casual viewer, a normal HD version is also fine. The audio issues might bother you in 4K. I would say this is more than a one-time view. It is a movie you watch every year with your family.

I really enjoyed revisiting this masterpiece. It proves that good comedy stays alive forever. Despite the small dubbing issues, the film is a total winner. I hope more 90s films get this 4K treatment soon.
