I recently sat down to watch the Hindi film With Luv Tumhaara. This movie stars Preeti Jhangiani and Parvin Dabas. If you grew up in the 2000s, you probably remember these actors well. I remember Preeti from her debut in Mohabbatein. She still looks very graceful on screen. Parvin Dabas also plays his part with a lot of maturity. The story is a mix of romance and some serious drama.

The Story and My Experience

The plot follows a simple path at first. It feels like a typical love story. However, it tries to add more layers as the movie goes on. I felt that the chemistry between the leads was quite nice. They look like a real couple on screen. Sharad Kapoor is also in the movie, and he plays a very intense role. I found some parts of the movie a bit slow. But if you like old-school romance, you might enjoy it.

Technical Quality & Hindi Dubbing

I watched this movie in a 4K upscaled version. I must say, the picture quality surprised me. The 4K resolution makes the old frames look very sharp. I liked the color grading here. It does not look too fake or boosted. The skin tones look natural and real. The outdoor scenes in the hills look beautiful in high definition.

However, I have some complaints about the Hindi dubbing. Since this is an older film, the audio often feels detached. In many scenes, I noticed the lip-sync was not perfect. It feels like the actors recorded their lines much later in a studio.

My biggest issue was the background noise in the audio track. Sometimes the music is too loud, and the voices get lost. The Hindi dubbing quality could have been much better. It feels a bit hollow at times. I wish the sound engineering was as good as the new 4K visuals.

Director Comparison: Akshaye Akkineni’s Style

The movie is directed by Akshaye Akkineni. I have seen his other work, like the movie Pizza. If I compare the two, Pizza is much more polished. That film had a lot of suspense and great pacing.

In With Luv Tumhaara, the director focuses more on emotions. I think he tried to make a deep romantic film. But it lacks the tight editing seen in his later works. While Pizza felt modern, this movie feels very stuck in the mid-2000s style. I liked the camera angles he used here, though. He knows how to make a scene look grand.

Viewer’s Verdict: 4K Worthy?

Is this movie worth a 4K watch? Well, it depends on your taste. If you are a fan of Preeti Jhangiani, you will love the 4K visuals. She looks stunning in every frame. The high resolution really helps in showing the beautiful locations.

But if you care about the story and sound, it is just a one-time view. The weak Hindi dubbing took me out of the experience several times. I don’t think I would watch it again. It is a good movie to have playing in the background on a Sunday afternoon.

Conclusion

Overall, With Luv Tumhaara is a decent watch for nostalgia. The 4K version makes it look fresh, even if the audio is a bit let down. The acting is good, and the songs are pleasant to hear. I just wish the technical team had fixed the lip-sync issues. It is a simple film with a big heart.

My Rating: 2.5/5
